Apostille New Zealand certificates of criminal conviction history

Isarey provides specialist Apostille and attestation services in New Zealand. We arrange Apostille certification and embassy certification for New Zealand police clearance certificates (criminal conviction history) for use in the United Arab Emirates and abroad.

Criminal record certificates issued in New Zealand can be authenticated for official use in countries which are signatories to the Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents Hague Apostille ConventionExternal link (opens in new tab) by obtaining an Apostille stamp from the Department of Internal Affairs Apostille service.

Certificates required for non-apostille countries must also be legalized by the destination country's consular mission to New Zealand. Non-Apostille countries include: AE United Arab EmiratesUnited Arab Emirates - QA QatarQatar - TH ThailandThailand - TW TaiwanTaiwan - VN VietnamVietnam

Where countries do not have diplomatic missions in New Zealand, we can also assist in legalizing certificates at embassies in Canberra (e.g. certificates required for submission to Qatar).

We'll arrange an insured courier to collect your original certificate and then obtain all necessary apostilles, legalizations and certifications. We also provide notarized and certified translations into Spanish, French, Portuguese and other languages, so that your certificate is properly legalized and ready to submit in the country where you need to present it.

We arrange secure delivery by courier worldwide.

How to obtain a New Zealand Criminal Conviction History

New Zealand certificates of criminal conviction history can be obtained online. The application process is free and takes around 3 working days. The PDF certificate, which is sent to the applicant by email, can then be submitted to the Department of Internal Affairs Apostille service for Apostille certification or legalization.

Most authorities requiring criminal record certificates ask for a recent certificate (usually issued within the last three months)

Certified Translation of New Zealand Criminal History

When presenting a New Zealand criminal record certificate in a country which does not have English as an official language, then a certified translation may be required. The certified translation must meet the requirements of the destination country, so that a translation done locally in New Zealand may need to be authenticated with an additional Apostille or consular stamp. Alternatively, we can arrange sworn translations certified locally in Spain, Italy, France and many other countries to ensure that they officially accepted in visa and residency applications and other procedures.

Isarey works with local notaries and sworn translators in a wide range of destination countries. We'll take care of the entire legalization and translation process, so that your certificates are correctly translated and ready to submit:

  • GERMANY: translations into German must be certified by an officially authorized and appointed sworn translator.
  • SPAIN: translator must be authorised by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign AffairsExternal link (opens in new tab) (in Spanish) ("Traducción Jurada")
  • FRANCE: translations into French must be certified by a translator accredited by a French court of appeal (Cour d'appel)
  • ITALY: translations must be authenticated by a Court Clerk or by a Notary Public in Italy
  • PORTUGAL: translations into Portuguese can be certified in Portugal by a local notary
