Thailand Document Attestation

Certify documents issued in Thailand for official use in the United Arab Emirates and abroad.

Certify documents issued in Thailand for international use

Authenticate documents issued in Thailand, including birth certificates, death and marriage certificates, Police Clearance Certificates, University Diplomas, Court documents, Certificate of Origin, Certificates of Free Sale, and other documents certified by a Thai notary public.

Thai documents required for submission abroad are legalized by the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs and then attested by the embassy of the recipient country in Bangkok. Thailand is not a member of the Apostille Convention and does not issue Apostille Stamps. This means that Thai documents generally require an embassy stamp to be valid abroad.

  • Isarey can obtain official copies of Thai birth certificates and marriage certificates from the District Registrar (Amphoe).
  • We can also assist with obtaining Thai Police Clearance Certificates for Thai and foreign nationals from the Royal Thai Police.
  • We work with all major Embassies in Bangkok, including the embassies of Spain, Italy, Germany, France, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar.

Legalize Thai Documents

Thai documents can be certified for cross-border use through legalization

Consular Legalization

Legalization is a procedure used when a Thai document needs to be certified for official use abroad. Each document requires a double certification: first by the authorities of Thailand and secondly by the authorities of the country where the documents will be used (the receiving country). This second certification, which is generally provided by the embassy or consulate representing the receiving country in Thailand, confirms the first certification and so validates the document for official use in the receiving country.

Certified Translation

Where Thai documents are to be used abroad and where the receiving country has a different official language, certified translation may also be required. Isarey takes care of any certified translations required as part of the document attestation process, ensuring that translations are carried out and certified in accordance with local regulations.

Note that a certified translation on its own only provides assurance that the translation itself is accurate and true; it does not confirm the authenticity of the original document. The original document must be legalized for a certified translation to carry equivalent legal weight.
