Apostille Birth, Death and Marriage Certificates in Brazil for use in the United Arab Emirates and abroad
Birth, marriage and death certificates issued in Brazil can be certified with a Hague Convention Apostille stamp from the National Justice Council (Conselho Nacional de Justiça).
Brazilian Apostilles are usually processed in 1-3 business days and delivered worldwide by courier.
Authorities of countries that have signed the Hague Apostille Convention will recognise Brazilian Apostilles directly as confirmation of authenticity. Otherwise, the authentication must be legalized by the destination country's embassy or consulate in Brasilia.

How to obtain a certified copy of a Brazilian birth, marriage or death certificate
Certified copies of Brazilian birth certificates, death certificates and marriage certificates can be obtained from the Local Civil Register (Cartório de Registro Civil das Pessoas Naturais) in the city where the event was registered. There are no restrictions on obtaining records.
Brazilian birth, marriage and death certificates
Certificates can be ordered by contacting the Register directly or online (you will need an address in Brazil, a Brazilian CPF Tax ID, and a Brazilian credit card or bank account for payment). Delivery times vary depending on the register and the availability of records (normally up to 10 working days).
Brazil issues two types of certificate for births and marriages - in most cases, a standard form (Certidão de Breve Relato) is sufficient, but sometimes a long form (Certidão de Nascimento de Inteiro Teor) is required. This long form, which includes additional data such as the grandparents' place of birth, the professions of the parents and citizenship data, is most commonly required when presenting to the authorities of Italy and Portugal as part of a citizenship application. The long form must be ordered directly from the local Register and cannot be ordered online.
Certified translations of Brazilian death, marriage and birth certificates
When presenting a Brazilian birth certificate or other vital record in a country which does not have Portuguese as an official language, then a certified translation may be required. A translation can be done in Brazil by an official sworn translator (Tradutor Público Juramentado) and then certified with an apostille stamp from the National Justice Council, so that it is accepted abroad.
Isarey works with local notaries and sworn translators in a wide range of destination countries. We'll take care of the entire legalization and translation process, so that your certificates are correctly translated and ready to submit:
- GERMANY: translations into German must be certified by an officially authorized and appointed sworn translator.
- SPAIN: translator must be authorised by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (in Spanish) ("Traducción Jurada")
- FRANCE: translations into French must be certified by a translator accredited by a French court of appeal (Cour d'appel)
- ITALY: translations must be authenticated by a Court Clerk or by a Notary Public in Italy
